Iontophoresis

The procedure is simple. You have to keep your hand and foot in a tray containing water.

We will place a plate in the tray, through which current will be passed. Don’t worry we won’t shock you!

Pretty simple right!

Each sitting lasts around 20 minutes.
The procedure is repeated 3 - 4 times a week, for 1 month (to be decided by your dermatologist) and then maintenance treatment is necessary.

The decision to use iontophoresis / any modifications has to be decided only by a certified dermatologist.

Injectable therapies: Botox

Botox (Botulinum toxin) needs no introduction. Thanks to the media.

It corrects wrinkles. Does it have a role in Hyperhidrosis?

Yes

In fact,

Botox is the effective treatment for Hyperhidrosis in the palms, soles and axilla.

And only 1-2 treatments per year
You may experience pain!
Significant results in 2 weeks!

Sweat reduction devices:

Microwave thermolysis and ultrasound therapy, though FDA approved, are not used much in Indian settings.

Surgery:

To keep it simple, cut the nerve responsible for sweating! That’s it!

CONCLUSION:

Despite the availability of a wide range of treatment options, Hyperhidrosis can only be controlled and can't be cured completely!

Hope I have addressed the most common doubts on Hyperhidrosis. The treatment approach may subject to change based on the expertise of your certified dermatologist
